Porbandar
Location: 412km from Ahmedabad.
About: The birth place of Mahatma Gandhi is famous for its
beaches and picturesque beauty. The old residence of father of our
nation, Kirti Mandir, is still located here and is visited by crowds
throught the year. It is a peaceful place to be but if you are
looking for a gorgeous holiday in Gujarat, Porbandar's beaches are
the place to be at. The ancient city was a major port for getting
spices from Arabian countries. It has now turned into a major center
for cement and chemical industries. Porbandar also offer a great
variety of gold and silver trinkets and fine silk.
Places of Interest:
Kirti Mandir - Place where Gandhiji was born on Oct. 2,
1869. His study room has been preserved sa they were.
Bharat Mandir – Unique of its kind, the temple has a
relief map of India in place of an idol.
Porbandar Sea Beach - Visit temples, forts and various
interesting industries at beach here.
Sudama Temple – Temple of Sudama, cripple friend of
Hindu Lord Krishna.

line.
