Location: About 120km from Ahmedabad.
About: Baroda literally means 'City of Banyan Trees' and
hence is obvious 'Garden City of Gujarat'. The cultural capital of
Gujarat, it rises from the banks of river Vishwamitri. The river has
been named after great saint Vishwamitra who meditated on the banks
of this river. With its numerous art galleries and museums, Baroda
has become an important cultural center of India as well.
It is a pleasant city in Gujarat with well laid out parks, temples,
forts and beautiful palaces, luring tourists across the globe. The
city is also famous for its world renowned fine arts college. Baroda
Gharana is also famous in the world of classical music.

Ahmedabad.
By Rail: Since Baroda lies on the main line connecting
Mumbai-Ahmedabad, all trains from Ahmedabad, destined at Mumbai pass
through Baroda.
By Road: State transport buses ply at regular intervals to
Baroda. Within Baroda, auto rickshaws and taxis are best mode of
commutation.
