Chandola Lake
Located on Dani Limda Road, Chandola lake is yet another important
water reservoir at Ahmedabad. This artificial lake was built by wife
of Tajn Khan Nari Ali, who was another Mughal Sultan at Ahmedabad.
The tomb of Shah Alam stands adjoining to this lake.
Asaf Khan, brother of the Empress Noor Jahan had the domes of this
tomb covered with gold and precious stones. In all there are three
big and 18 small domes, sculpted magnificently by Saleh Badakshi.
These days, water from this lake is mainly used for irrigation and
industrial purposes. A number of tourists visit this lake for a
leisurely stroll in the evening.
